SFPD Cams Tape Me Filming Rifle-Toting Cop at a Mall
This footage was captured on Thursday, October 6 around 5:15 pm.
I was shopping at the Westfield Mall on Market Street and came upon a rifle-bearing San Francisco police officer and a few other armed law enforcement folks.
They were searching for a man allegedly displaying a knife and he was apprehended.
I question whether the armed-response was an appropriate use-of-force level in this situation.
A news producer who's looked at the footage believe the "long gun" may have been a bean-bag weapon.
As you hear, the cops didn't much appreciate being filmed and several times mention they were recording me on the body-cams.
There can never be too many cameras rolling as the police carry out their duties.
