SF DA Hushed Up Tech Titan Trans-on-Lesbian Rape from January

As if I needed another example of selective justice and charging, not to mention publicizing, from San Francisco District Attorney and ambitious political animal George Gascon, after having my name dragged through the mud over taking a restroom photo of the District 8 Supervisor and later seeing three SF Chronicle photographers snap and print more graphic restroom photos and no charges brought, the SF Examiner gives me that example today.

Kudos to reporter Jonah Owen Lamb for breaking this news today:

A prominent advocate for transgender and women’s rights in the tech world has been charged with raping her wife, The San Francisco Examiner has learned.

Dana McCallum, a senior engineer at Twitter who speaks and writes about women’s and transgender rights and technology issues, was arrested Jan. 26 and booked into County Jail on suspicion of five felonies, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

McCallum, 31, whose legal name is Dana Contreras, was charged Jan. 29 with five felonies, including three counts of spousal rape, one count of false imprisonment and one count of domestic violence, according to the District Attorney’s Office. She has since pleaded not guilty. McCallum has been out of jail on $350,000 bail.

Hmmm, this all went down almost three months ago and the DA hasn't said a peep about it, but he sure wasted no time blaring his bias against me when he brought a misdemeanor charge against me at the behest of the Casto's Supervisor.

We're talking five quite serious felonies and a high bail but defendant McCallum has for some reason not been subject to any publicity from the DA. Could it be that since I'm a little guy queer and McCallum is a powerful tech titan of the LGBT persuasion, there are double-standards from the DA's mouth and public affairs staff? Is the Pope a Catholic?

By the way, the print edition of the story reports that McCallum was born a male and openly identifies as a female. Not sure why that info has been deleted from the online Examiner story.

McCallum's Twitter identification is DanaDanger and Tweeted this note today:

I'll be sure to follow this case closely.
