Sing Tao, Media Roundup of SF City Hall Russian Vodka Dump

The Chinese-American newspaper Sing Tao covered the protest organized by Gays Without Borders and, with a story and photo, pictured, where we dumped vodka on the sidewalk in front of San Francisco's City Hall and called on Mayor Ed Lee to back the boycott and deplore anti-gay laws and violence in Russia.

Unfortunately, Mayor Lee has chosen to remain silent about the boycott, laws and escalating homophobia in Russia. Let's hope he soon finds his voice to speak out, as did President Obama last night on Jay Leno's talk show who condemned the violence.

The San Francisco Examiner, under a headline reading "Stolichnaya Boycott", ran a note about the Russian vodka dump and used a photo snapped by Mike Koozmin.

The online version of the story featured a series of ten excellent photos by Koozmin, and this was the best of the lot, showing Robbie Sweeny of doing the dumping as Melanie Nathan of Gays Without Borders cheers him on.

Over at the ABC affiliate KGO-TV site, reporter Carolyn Tyler shares her fantastic and comprehensive story that aired last night along with a written account of the protest and related gay Russia issues.

Here's a roundup of other coverage from yesterday.
