Cher Donated to Two
Democratic Presidential Hopefuls

Gay goddess Cher has been busy in recent months posting on her Twitter feed all sorts of delicious attacks about Mitt Romney, and offering up politically incorrect thoughts on Mormons.

Curious if she had donated any bucks to Barack Obama in 2008, I searched her Federal Election Commission file for details and found no checks written out to him.

What did turn up were Cher's donations to Democrats Michael Dukakis in 1988 ($900), and Joe Biden in 2006 ($2,100 for senate run; $2,100 for presidential run) for their dashed White House dreams. That's it for checks from Cher to presidential hopefuls.

She may have been influenced by her "Moonstruck" co-star Olympia Dukakis, cousin to the former governor of Massachusetts, in making the 1988 donation and certainly wouldn't have contributed if she didn't believe in Michael Dukakis' campaign.

Cher also wrote checks totaling $2,200 to the Voters for Choice political action committee (1989-1993), and a $1,000 check to GOP Rep. Mary Bono, Sonny's widow who inherited his Congressional seat.

Let's see if she makes any donations this election cycle and to whom. And if she doesn't write a check to any politician, Cher is registered to vote and will cast her ballot in November. Just a reminder you too should be a registered voter.
