Miller Wrote About the Interrogation in Her Book

In Judy Miller's book, "God Has Ninety-Nine Names," she writes about witnessing Israeli security officials interrogate Mohammed Salah in prison, on pages 381-383.

She claims that she was allowed to watch the interrogation "only because Prime Minister Rabin himself had personally approved it."

Follow this link to Amazon.com to read her account of the interrogation.

A September 2001 newsletter from the Jewish United Fund of Chicago reported on Miller's book and her watching the interrogation of the suspect:

In January 1993, Israeli security forces detained two Chicagoans suspected of bringing large sums of money to aid terrorist activities conducted in Gaza and the West Bank by members of Hamas, an organization dedicated to advancing the radical Islamic cause by eradicating the State of Israel and establishing Muslim rule over all of Palestine. In a February 17 New York Times article, Judith Miller, a Times correspondent with years of experience throughout the Middle East, reported on implications of the interrogations at one Chicagoan, Mohammed Abdel-Hamid Salah of Bridgeview. Miller observed "that Hamas, the Palestinian group that has attacked Israelis and Palestinians, has drawn critical financial support and political and military guidance from agents in the United States."

(In "God Has Ninety-Nine Names," a recently published book that elaborates on the activities of Salah and others in the framework of Islamic militancy throughout the Middle East, Miller reveals that she had personally watched an interrogation of the Hamas suspect.)

I expect that before the week is out, lots more information about Miller's involvement in this case will come out.
