MSNBC: NOLA Leadership from Harry Connick

A photojournalist on MSNBC in the last hour, after showing his footage of desperate New Orleans residents at the Convention Center begging for water, food and medicine, said that the crowd relaxed somewhat when Harry Connick Jr. gave people information about when help might arrive.

The MSNBC photojournalist reported the crowd seemed to appreciate that Connick assumed some responsibility for his fellow New Orleans residents.

And still, federal help is not reaching the devastated areas of New Orleans, but four days after Katrina struck, residents of that city turn to Connick for leadership and information.

Thank you, Mr. Connick.
