AIDS Stigma Survey Needs PWAs

My friend Sean Strub, a longtime person living with HIV and political advocate, earlier this week sent around the following note, seeking community engagement with a survey about stigma and persons with AIDS:

GNP+ (Global Network of People Living With HIV) is hosting a consultation to find out global priorities of PLHIV for our work to combat stigma and discrimination. This includes a condensed version of the PLHIV Stigma Index followed by questions about the areas that you personally feel should be the top priorities.

Please publicize and circulate this widely as we are eager to have North America represented in this consultation.

North America is the only GNP+ region that has not yet implemented the Stigma Index in any part of its region.

We hope by publicizing and gaining wide participation in this survey, we will help raise awareness of the Stigma Index and facilitate its implementation soon. GNP+NA will focus on the Stigma Index in our presentation for the U.S. Conference on AIDS in September.

I answered the questions and gave feedback in all of the boxes provided for comments, and am pleased to play my part promoting the survey and encouraging all people living with HIV/AIDS to take 10-15 minutes and participate in the survey.
