'Palin Not Stalin' & 'Palin Pink' Trademarked
The tragic choice of John McCain two weeks ago, to ask Sarah Palin to be his running mate, is having repercussions in many ways across American culture and life. Who would have predicted anyone, much less four people, taking out trademark applications related to her?
On a lark, looking for a few laughs, I searched the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office's web site for recent trademarks related to Palin. Four hits were returned, each with either charm or weirdness.
Click here to visit the trademark search engine, then enter "palin" as the term, and you'll be linked to the four applications.
Let's check them out, and I hope your funny bone is tickled:

You go, girl! Are there enough GOP women and drag queens to make such beauty products with this color profitable? Probably, but I doubt that they're all registered to vote.

Boring. Not worth trademarking. Will not be a hit at haunted houses this Halloween.
I didn't know he was on this year's ballot. When did tyrannical and murderous Uncle Joe come back to life and become a choice for voters this fall?

I'm pro choice and pro Palin as the majoity of the GOP is pro choice. Roe Vs. Wade will not be overturned.
ReplyDeleteThere has been plenty of oppertunities for that to have happened ie: Reagan, Bush, Republican congress, Ashcroft. abortion right and politics should not have anything to do with each other.
If Palin is pro life, then that's her choice.

I think the trademark application for "Palin Pink" is an excellent way to cash in on the current political tide. I hope the topic of political lipstick stays in the news and the girl who coined the phrase "Palin Pink" becomes super rich! Considering how many people in the red states wear lipstick, this could be a gold mine. It's new and creative, you can't beat that.
ReplyDeleteI would definitely wear Palin Pink! It's a great name for lipstick.
